A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Willie B. Sharp, Sr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 will be held on Saturday July 17th, 1:00 p.m. at Aikens Chapel, 2708 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Minister Robert House, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Willie was born to the late John Lee Sharp and Angeline Johnson on June 16, 1940 in Baconton, Georgia. He was raised in Baconton, Georgia and attended Mitchell County Public Schools. As a teenager, he relocated to Tampa, Florida where he married the love of his life, the late Marlene Sharp, for 53 years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather that loved caring for others throughout the family. His hobbies included fishing, dominos, playing cards, working on cars, gardening, farming, and doing ceramics. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his children, caring and devoted daughter, Karlene Sharp; sons, Willie B. Sharp, Jr., the late Anthony Sharp, Andrew Sharp, and Julie Crosby; grandchildren, Karlyarna (Eric), Arnaisa, A’shanti and William Morris, Jr., Leont’e Destin, Laquanna Roberts (Keith), Reginald, Natoshia and Kiyanna Duffy, Willie, Jonisha, Alexxus, Leila, Maritza and Andrew Sharp, Jr., Antonio Atkins, Talisha Scott, Rochelle Crosby, Shantel Davis, Ashley Tookes, Shamara Huff, Trentavious Crosby, Malik William, Willie Bell Sharp, and Keisha Bostick Sharp; great-grandchildren; Reginald Lewis Jr., Matteo Bennett, Faith Bennett, and Ahmad Knight; sisters, Leila Mae Lee, Annie Delores Moore (Ernest) all of Albany, Georgia, Patsy Weaver of Thomasville, Georgia, and Barbra Morgan, Bridgeton, New Jersey; nieces, Almatine Lee, Annie D. Quimby (Stanley), Rose Mary Carter, Jeanine Dixon, June Tennel (Robert), Debra, Robyn and Nakima Sharp, Yolanda Morgan, Valerie Panda (Tony), Linda Simmons, Sandra and Amanda Kendrick, and Emma Jean Williams, Valdosta, GA; nephews, David Lee, Jr., Herchel Hicks, Bobby Charles Lee (Barbara), Robert House, Jr., the late Leon Simmons, Bobby Simmons (Emma), Dewayne Sharp, Timothy Lee, Larry (Willie Mae), the late James Johnson, Jr. (Betty), Antwon Sharp (Dianna), Raymond Sharp, Haraychard ‘Nick’ Moore (Beth), Robert Moore (Shantae); special niece, Dr. Katrina Esau (Joseph); special nephews, Mykel McCrea and Johnny Lee (Carrie); god-granddaughter, Skylar Zuri Johnson; special friend and neighbor, Barbara McGill; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 16th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Chapel on Saturday for the service.
