A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Preston Dallas Dickerson of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 will be held on Saturday, May 30th, 10:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery. Preston was born in Pocomoke City, Maryland on October 26, 1952 to the late Dover Lee Dickerson and Mildred Schoolfield. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Dickerson.Preston worked at the shipyard and volunteered at the salvation army He leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories with his loving wife, Mary Alford Dickerson; 3 step-children, Theresa Jinks (Mark), Christine Valdez (Scott) and Marcellious Alford; 9 grandchildren; siblings, Emma Woods (Patrick Woods), Cheryl Randall (Larry Randall) of Virginia,  Paul A. Jones of Florida, Mildred Jones-Horsey of Maryland, Cassandra Mathieu (Jean Enoch Mathieu) of Sebring, FL; aunt, Dorothy Shockley of Maryland; brothers-in-law, Paul Alford, Jr. (Gladys), Willie Williams (Yetsy), Julius Dix and Robert Alford (Mary); sisters-in-law, Yvonne Hamilton, Maydean Mann, Linda Dix, Beneatha Anderson (Larry) and Brenda Alford (Albert) of Ocala, FL and Gwen Jokines; special friend, Carlos Valdez; special thanks to Monica McLeod, caregiver and to the LifePath Hospice Teal Team; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th from 4-6 p.m. The funeral service will be live streamed.
