A Homegoing Graveside Celebration for Mr. James Lionel Gaddie, Sr. of Riverview, Florida who passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020, will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511, Apostolic Bishop T.B. Davis, officiating. The interment will follow at Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery. James was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He met and married the love of his life, Dansenia Jackson Gaddie in June of 1985. From this union was born two beautiful children, Jasmine Danielle and James Lionel, Jr. and one adorable grandchild Jazlynn Madison Jackson whom James affectionately called, “Maddy”. He attended and graduated from Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City, OK., class of 1979 and attended LSU on a basketball scholarship. James moved to Tampa, FL from Slidell, Louisiana in 1983. He began an admirable career for over thirty years as a Car Sales Consultant and as a Mortgage Broker. James hobbies were refurbishing classic cars and basketball; and above all he enjoyed spending quality time with his family and worshipping the Lord. James was preceded in death by his daughter, Jasmine Danielle Gaddie, his father James Gaddie, and his two sisters, Beverly Gaddie Valdez and Jane Gaddie. James is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dansenia Jackson Gaddie; son, James Lionel Gaddie, Jr. and granddaughter, Jazlynn Madison Jackson; mother, Mary Gaddie (Slidell, LA), sister, Sylvia Gaddie Davis (Atlanta, GA), nieces, Maya Gaddie (Los Angeles, CA), and Simone Davis (Atlanta, GA), one nephew, Anthony Valdez (Atlanta, GA), two uncles, Louis Jay Smith (Alberta), Slidell, LA., and Walter Smith, (Atlanta, GA) He is also blessed to be loved and missed by his large family of brothers and sisters-in-law Twanda (Charles) Roberts, Shahidah Aquil, Madie (Henry) Crawford, Archie (Gail) Harrison, Mancel Harrison, Yolanda (Roger) Collins, Robin (Johnnie) Favors, Thomasina Bryant (Willie), Warren Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins and two very special friends, Arthur Banks and Terry Kirnes. James will always have a special place in the hearts of many and will be sadly missed. The family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery on Saturday for the service.
