Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Charlie T. Durr, Jr. passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 will be held on Saturday, January 16th, 10:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Pastor Johnny Wright, officiating.

On January 2, 2021 surrounded by his loving family Mr. Charlie T. Durr, Jr. was called home to be with the Lord. Charlie T. Durr, Jr. was born to Mr. Charlie T. Durr, Sr. and Mrs. Simmie Durr on November 27, 1947. He was educated by the Henry County School System in Abbeville, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie T. Sr. and Simmie Durr; paternal grandparents, Roy and Daisy Durr; maternal grandmother, Georgia Stinson; two brothers, James Durr and Olen Jackson; one sister, Georgia Horne and several other aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his children and family five sons, Dexter Brock (Sonya), Alonzo Brock, Sr. (Anni), Felix Harrell (Lisa), Terrance Brock (Stefanie), and Carlos Brock; two daughters, Tonya Hagens and Carlette Brock; one brother, Leo Jones (Vivian); three sisters, Annie Dozier, Hattie Pearl McAllister, and Ruthie Sampson (Douglas); six grandchildren, Alonzo Brock, Jr., Jakeithia Gomez (Rolando), Scott Brock, Daishondria Brock, Salema Jalloh, and Takese Hills; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, Mary McAllister, Dorothy Blakely (Arthur), Annie Dozier, Zena Marshall (Winston), Temica Dozier, Ronetta Lee, Jannina Warren (Mario), LaToya McAllister, Janesia Balom, Lori McAllister, Sierra Brown, Tomeka Palmore, Shenika Blakely, Telisha Blakely. Stephanie Jones, Misty Sampson, Shemyra Haynes (Randy), Tamara Durr and Darnisha Horne. Nephews, William L. McAllister, Jr. (Anita), Antonio Dozier, Jonathan Jones (Renee), Calvin Jones, Kenje Jones, Sr., Jason Horne, Demetric Coakley, Maurice Lewis, Michael Roberson, Ricky Roberson, William L, McAllister, III (Beyonka), Jarin Balom, Derrick Sampson (Melissa), Michael Burkes and Marlo Burkes; mother of his children, Ellawese Brock-Colston and a host of loving family and friends.

The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 15th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.
