A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Stephanie Regina Perry-Walker “Short-Stuff” of Springhill, who passed away unexpectedly on November 25th, will be held this Saturday December 2, 2017, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street Tampa, FL 33610, Pastor S. Evan Burrows; Pastor Darrick Fullwood, eulogist. Stephanie Perry-Walker was born March 3, 1969 in Tampa, Florida to the late Willie James Perry and Mary Louise Henry Perry. She was raised in the east Tampa neighborhood of Woodland Terrace and it was there that Stephanie met some of her lifelong friends. At the Woodland Terrace playground, she displayed many talents, but Cheerleading became her favorite activity. Her love of this activity, allowed her to become a member of the King High School Cheerleading Squad, where she also established some wonderful friendships. After high school, Stephanie entered the workforce and started her career with the Hillsborough County School Board. Later she spent seven years working at the USF Alumni Center before she took a leap of faith and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta, Stephanie worked at Spellman College and the Northside Hospital. On her Christian journey in Atlanta, she was affiliated with the Tabernacle of Praise Church. Wanting to be closer to her beloved daughter and granddaughters, she and her husband, Michael, relocated back to Florida where Stephanie became a member of the Oak Hill Hospital family. She formed several wonderful relationships with many members of the Oak Hill family. Stephanie was a loving Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunt and Friend to all and will truly be missed by all. She leaves to cherish her memories with her husband, Michael Walker; daughter, Ashley Tiana Shorter (Devon); grandchildren, Ge’Niya Christina Louise Logan and Devon Elissa Shorter; special guardians, Gloria Jean Newton and Julius Newton (Katrina); brothers, Willie James Perry (Pat), Ruben Perry, Sr., Dolphus Lee Perry, Elwynn Perry (Stephanie) and Kenny Perry 1(Andrea); sisters, Barbara Simpkins, Jackie Bacon (Percy), Susan Anglin (Will), Janice McCullough and Sharon Everett (Nathaniel Yancy); aunts, Shirley Valdez and Yvonne Calhoun; nieces, Benita Perry, Renita Perry, Keisha Roberts, Tameka Roberts, Katrina Bailey, Lashawn McCullough, Tashina Perry, Marshanna Keys (Corey), Kennedy Jules Perry, Shaniya Roberts and Colinthia R. Walker; nephews, Sonny Oliver, Charles Waddy, Antonio McCullough (Destiny), Ruben Perry, Jr., (Trinese), Reymone Perry (Dyshaka), Emin Perry, Marshae Perry, Maurice Perry, Elwynn Perry, Jr., Omar Perry, Jamal Roberts, Travis Walker and A.J. Walker; cousins, Philip Henry, Joe Henry, Cynthia McCray, Greg McCray,Terry McCray, Judy Taylor, Ann Mcintyre and Carla Banks; father-in-law, John Henry Walker; brother-in-laws, Johnnie Ray Walker (Linda) and Harold L. Walker (Sharon); childhood friends, Sharon Houston, Fredia Waricks and Alicia Gaines Haynes (Michael) and many many special people whose lives she touched and left an imprint on.The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday December 1st from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
