A Homegoing Celebration for Michael E. Williams who was known by “Mike” of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, will be held October 26th 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Pastor Raymond Williams, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery. Michael was born on February 20,1955 in Eustis, Florida to the late James Carter and Alma Jean Mitchell. Mike attended Lake County Schools and Hillsborough Schools systems. After graduating from Tampa Bay Tech in 1973 he joined the United States Army to pursue a career as a mechanic. After serving in the military Mike then pursued a career as a truck driver, traveling throughout the United States. Mike loved his wife, Barbara and enjoyed spending time with her. Mike made sure he lived his life to the fullest; he enjoyed talking to his grandchildren weekly. If anyone asked Mike about fishing, “No” was never an answer. Mike enjoyed fishing no matter if it was in a boat or on the river bank the relaxing and enjoyment he received after bringing home a nice size bass or speck made his heart happy. Mike also enjoyed cooking and spent a lot of time in the kitchen creating meals from scratch. Mike was full of life, there was no dull moment when you were around him you felt the love. The conversation, the laughs, and jokes was all in love. Mike enjoyed a good football game and talking with friends. Mike would like for you to know that his earthly work is done. He received the call, an offer he couldn’t refuse. The new assignment comes with a reunion with family and friends. This assignment will allow him to forever watch over us. Lots of love, laughter, and good health is guaranteed. With the memories of his smile and character do not mourn but celebrate, his mission here is complete. Michael is preceded in death by his parents. Michael leaves to cherish his memories: A loving wife Barbara Bell; Sons: Raymond D. Williams wife Carrie, Michael T. Williams (Sucandra), stepsons, Angel Clark and Anthony Johnson; brother, Gerald B. Williams; sister-in-law, Mattie Price (J.B. Price); Another sister-in-law; grandchildren, Ashley, Savon Williams, Michael T., Jr. and Mikayla Williams and William Kelly. great grandchildren, Kalvin, Amariyah Williams, and Aubreelyn Kelly; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. The visitation will be held on Saturday, October 26th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
