A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Lorene Wilson Thompson “Moma Thompson” of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 will be held Saturday, June 15th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Elder Donald Ballard, officiating. Lorene was born January 14, 1948 in St. Petersburg, Florida born to James and Salliewill Wilson. She attended Bell Shoals Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, playing spades and dominos. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Salliewill Wilson; sisters, Thelma McKay, Gwendolyn Jones, Celstine Shade, Carolyn Daymon and Mellolean Wright; brothers, Willie Nelson, Jr., Robert Lee Wilson, David Eugene Wilson, Luther Wesley Wilson and Kellum Theodus Porter. She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her sisters, Annette Carr (Ervin Charles), Florestine Pierce and Catherine Yvonne Gillens (Terry Lawrence); aunt, Jessie Mae; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; thank you to Sun City Hospice House and staff, Bell Shoals Church of Christ, Brandon Hospital and staff, Tampa General and staff, Fusion Home Health and team; Nikia Mike, Monroe Parks and Tyesha Thomas; the family would like to offer a special thank you to, Larry and Yolanda McCrimmon; and special thank you to her niece, Avis Baker. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday, June 15th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the services.
