Lorena H. Young

December 14, 1952 ~ May 21, 2018 (age 65)

Mrs. Lorena H. Young of Tampa, Florida passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018. Services will be held Saturday, June 2nd, 10:00 a.m. at Cathedral of Faith Church, Inc.  6304 N. 30th Street, Apostle James H. Howell, pastor; Bishop George Bailey, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Lorena passed through glory’s morning gate and walked into paradise. The Carpenter completed her chair and God called His dear child home. Lorena was born on December 14, 1952 in Adel, Georgia to Donzell and Louvina Holloman. She graduated from Brandon High School, in Brandon, Florida, in 1969. She worked at Nu-Air Manufacturing Company in a supervisory capacity for over 15 years until her health declined. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donzell and Louvina Holloman and brother, Donzell Holloman, Jr. She has been a member of The Deliverance Church of The Body of Christ for over 15 years and provided love and support as one of the Mother’s of the church. In her free time, Lorena enjoyed witnessing about God’s goodness, spending time with her family, singing, baking, cooking, and shopping. Lorena never missed the opportunity to talk about how awesome God is. Her life and passing are a testimony of God’s goodness, grace, mercy, and favor. Her Christian walk, love for others, and laughter affected everyone she encountered. Although she will be missed, she is too well loved to ever be forgotten. She is at rest in the arms of Jesus…and He has said “Well done My good and faithful servant”. She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Murray Young, Jr.; two beautiful daughters, Teresa Young and Mechell Young-Williams; a wonderful son-in-law, Christopher Williams; brother, Joseph Holloman; grandchildren, Dominique Malone, Kiarrah Best, Reginald Burney, and Chi’Anne Brackin; nephew, Jermaine Filmore; great-niece, Jertrice Filmore; sister-in-law, Corine Young; god-children, Tadiah Taylor (deceased), Kristina Roman, Lisa Johnson, Trenika Stovall, Tachonta Ammah, Kavonnah Means, Lachandra Blue, Angela Allen, Tony Williams, and Jessie Brackin; a host of loving cousins, extended family and church family, which includes god-sisters, Jacqueline Brown, Patricia Cromuel, and Mattie Brinson; and dear friends, Mary Taylor, Christine Harvis, and Marcia Buckley. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 1st from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
