Leroy Clark "Roy" Jr.

February 13, 1972 ~ August 2, 2019 (age 47)

A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Leroy Clark, Jr. “Roy” of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019 will be held on Saturday, August 24th, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Pastor S. Evan Burrows; Rev. Christopher Jarnegan, Asst. Pastor officiating with Rev. Michael Neely, pastor of New Millennium, eulogist. The interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Leroy was born February 13, 1972 in Tampa, Florida to the late Leroy Clark, Sr. and Janet Clark. He attended First Baptist Church of College Hill his entire life.

 He graduated from Gaither High School in 1990 and attended Tuskegee University for three years with a major in Animal Science. He also completed studies in Aquaculture at Hillsborough Community College and internships at the Space Academy, level 2 in 1989 and Lowry Park Zoo in 2000. Because he was very passionate about conserving our environment and the effects of global warming, Leroy attempted to patent several inventions to help the cause. He was an avid gardener, animal lover, collector of coins and sport cards. In the year 2000, the Tampa Tribune presented him an award for discovering one of the oldest oak trees in Tampa. He was employed by ESD Home Solutions LLC as a sales representative and conducted demonstrations for Walmart Straight Talk for numerous household products. He had recently started A and T Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Clark, Sr. and his brother, Darryl Jones. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving mother, Janet Clark; sons, Leroy, Jr. and Zarek Williams; stepson, Alexander Lenox; brother, Stephen Jones (Stephania); godsister, Jeanya Owens; companion, Gillena Marie Longworth; aunts, Vivian Smith, Betty Richards, Barbara Isom, Edna Nicks (Alvoyd) and Michele Walker (Tyrone); cousins, James Oliver (Yvonne), Alvita Wright, Alvoyd Nicks III (Jackie), Alkwanya Collins, Vickie Isom, Len Isom, David Isom III; and a host of other cousins, nephews, sorrowing friends and best friend, Richard Miller. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to attend First Baptist Church of College Hill on Saturday for the service at 11:00 a.m.
