A Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Jerica Hodge of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019 will be held on Saturday, June 15th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Rev. Tammy Fowler, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Jerica was born in Ft. Myers, Florida on May 18, 1979 to the late James and Reita Hodge. She was baptized in Jesus’s name at Calvary Temple as a child and later attended St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. In later years she attended New Bright and Morning Star Baptist Church. Jerica loved being a team manager with the Tampa Hurricanes Football and Cheerleader team and was a very dedicated mother to her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Reita Hodge; brother, Bruce L. Evans and nephew, Nartavlean Evans. She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her fiancé, Santonio Hunt, Sr.; sons, James Hodge, Santonio Hunt, Tino Hunt, Sanquez Hunt, Antonio Hunt and Anthony Hunt; daughters, Santoneshia Hunt and Dreshauna Hunt; godchild, Janyla; brothers, Morris Hodge (Marie), James Smith and fiancé, Kathy, Thayer Evans (Rochell), Torrey Evans, Thaxton Evans Hodge and Thomas Evans (Leanna); sisters, Tangela Rogers (Rickey), Trenesa Thornton (Jimmy), Twyonia Davis and fiancé Glen and Sudie Gaymon (Doug); aunts, Betty Jean Hodge, Edwina Churchwell, Karen Watson, Phoebe Robinson (Kenny) and Debra Gully; uncles, Alfonza Churchwell, Emmanuel Booker and Elijah Baker; nieces, Shyree, Tyricka, Teresa, Mercedes, Tamara, Taranda, Jameshia, Electa, Darrelle, Shantoria and Latorrey; nephews, Roderick Matthews (Zandra), Rickey Rogers, Jr., James Smith, Jr., Renard, Thaxton and Derrick Evans; devoted and best friend, Tameka Smith and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins that loved her. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 14th from 5 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
