A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Diane Elizabeth Torrance of Tampa, Florida who passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019, will be held Friday, August 23rd, 10:00 a.m., at Victory AME Church, 5202 W. 86th Street, Rev. James D. Sykes, officiating. The interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Diane was born March 8, 1957 in Rockford, IL to Eddie Torrance and Pearline Torrance. She was a veteran of the United States Army. She enjoyed reading, listening gospel music, watching boxing and track and field, shopping, going to the movies and dinner and praising almighty God. She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Torrance; brothers, Nathan, James and Eddie Torrance, Jr.; god-son, Amari Andra Williams; godsister, Janette Klines and godfather, Rev Charlie Sims. She leaves to cherish her memories son, Jerry Couzens, Jr. “Scooter”; grandchildren, Alexis Joy, Ashlyn, Ire, Adayah, Ava, Jerzy, Jett and Aila Couzens; mother, Pearline Torrance; brother, Ernest Phillips (Palmer); sisters, Vanessa DeWalt, Sylvia Bames and Jonita Rodgers; aunts, Lura Graham and Dorothy Cooper; godmother, Lena Sims friends, Sheila Hernandez, Brenda Young, Butch, Twanda Bradley, Mark McPherson, and D’Angelo McPherson; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. The visitation will be at Aikens Funeral Home on Thursday, August 22nd, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Friday for the service.
