Carlton Alexander Lindsay

July 29, 1936 ~ July 19, 2018 (age 81)

A homegoing celebration for Mr. Carlton Alexander Lindsay of Tampa, Florida who passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 will be held Saturday, July 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Deacon Brenda Lindsay, officiating. Carlton was born July 29, 1936 to David and Mary Cook-Lindsay in Jamaica. He enjoyed playing and watching cricket games. Carlton was a member of the West Indian Cricket Club of West Tampa. Carlton also enjoyed listening to reggae music and relaxing with great-grandchildren, daughter, sons, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his spouses, Mary H. Lindsay and Rudein Lindsay; parents, David and Mary Cook-Lindsay; son, Garfield Lindsay; niece, Nicky Sterling; aunts and uncles. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his children, Gloria Lindsay-McNeil, Marco Lindsay, Glen Lindsay, Alonzo Reed and Albert Reed; god-children, Tony Butler, Tony Butler, Jr. and Rosevelet Bremby; grandchildren, Kendrick Lindsay, Keseanna Bowers, Sakeyda Lindsay, Eerol Stringer, Kenta Stringer, Irene Lawson, Iris Lawson, Lacoy Lindsay, Dwayne Lindsay, Marco Lindsay, Reese Lindsay and Makia Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Jmori Bowers, Rozanna Glover, Sterlin McDonald, Eerol Stringer, Jr. and Asia Lawson; brothers, Martel Lindsay, Vinicint Lindsay, Llyod Lindsay, Dermot Lindsay and George Lindsay; sisters, Doris Lindsay, Besty Irving, Liclyn Lindsay, Retilda Lindsay and Zinnette Lindsay; nieces, Brenda Lindsay-Proia, Batsheva Suffrin, Clarudette Rowe and Nannatte Irving; nephews, Patrick, Kirkpatrick Petlma Downer and Andy Irving (Carla); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives. The visitation will be at Aikens Funeral Home on Saturday one hour prior to the service. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
