A Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Bettie Ruth Williams of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019, will be held on Saturday, October 12th, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Pastor Herbert Roshell, presiding and Pastor John Jerelds, eulogist. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Bettie Ruth Williams was born on December 6, 1950 in Byromville, Georgia. She enjoyed sewing, crochet, cooking, baking and gardening. She attended the public schools of Hillsborough County, where she graduated from Blake High School. She retired from The Florida State Department of Transportation. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Laura Williams; sister, Sarah Williams; brother, Charlie Williams, Jr. and grandsons, Malcom, Joshua and Jordan Clark. She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her daughters, Tyra Jones and Mia Patterson; son, Sharone Patterson; grandchildren, James, Keena, Jamal, Jamar and Keana Harris; great-grandchildren, Miracle, Kenneth, Amari, Jordan, Grace, Josiah, Jaden, Lucinda and Drelynne; sisters, Laura Swain (Daniel), Felicia Moore (Michael) and Luella Williams; aunts, Catherine Turner, Sylvia Williams, Eunice Young, Bertha Gary (Walter), Edith Fulk and Ophelia Ball (Alphonso); uncles, William, Edward and Albert Young (Belle); nieces, Eunita and Doris Williams and Robin Hamilton-Cooley (Clarence); nephews, Daniel, Michael and Jermain Swain, Kimwana Hamilton, David Williams (Constance), Thomas Miller (Shelia), Dalian Yates (Kelli), Charlie Williams and Mark Singletary; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October 11th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The
family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
