A homegoing celebration for Deacon Willie Tim of Tampa. Florida who passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 will be held Saturday, July 22nd, 11:00 a.m. at First Union M.B. Church, 3707 E. Chelsea St. Pastor B.E. Garmon, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery. Deacon Willie was born November 22, 1919 in Thomasville, Georgia. He was born to the late Albert Tim and Priscilla Wackin. He attended the public schools in Georgia. He joined the United States Army where he served as a Radio Operation Service man, he was honorably discharge as a World War II veteran. Willie was a hard worker as a construction worker crossing guard, and a meat salesman. He eventually owned his own store located on 3617 E. Chelsea St.  In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing. After the death of his wife Golla Tim, three years later he met Bernice Moore and they married on September 27, 2007. Where life begins and love never ends. Deacon Tim was a faithful and dedicated member of the First Union M.B. Church for over 67 years. He was the longest living male member and the oldest member of First Union M.B. Church. He was one of the founding members and president of the male chorus and the usher board. Deacon Tim also served as president emeritus of the usher board. After retiring as president, he served as a member of the number one choir and part of the Sunday school he also served as a joint deacon of the greeters ministry and usher board. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his wife, Bernice Tim; step-daughters, Cynthia Autry and Cathie Autry; step-son, Charles Moore (Tawanda Gibbs); sister, Flarria Mae Cross; sisters-in-law, Jean Tim and Margaret Autry (Isiah) of Tampa, FL, Elizabeth Evans of Atlanta, GA and Maryellen Ross (Otis) of New York, NY; brother-in-law, Deacon Bobby Priester (Marylyn) of Tampa, FL; god-daughters, Kim Lawrence, Sharolyn Savage, Megan Cochran, Dominque Autry, Victoria McMillian and Shawndora Rivers all of Tampa, FL; god-sons, Keyon Moore, Adrian Fipps, Marcell Chavis and James McMillian, Jr. all of Tampa, FL; nieces, Yvonne Greene (Jacob), Marion Evans (Theodore), Rhudine Wiley (Charlie) and Erma Jean President (Allen) all of Miami, FL; nephews, Leo Cross, Gregory Tim (Patricia), Anthony (Annette), John (Velma), Reggie Tim and Patrick all of Tampa, FL; cousins, Josephine Bridges, Phyllis Bridges, Vonda Bridges, Albert Bridges and Alfred Bridges all of Tampa, FL and Gwendolyn Powell from St. Thomas, VI; special friend, Deacon Chisholm; close friend,  Pastor Garmon and the whole congregation at First Union M.B. Church. The visitation will be held at First Union M.B. Church, July 22nd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
