A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Vivian Loretta Guzman Norton “Muh” of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 will be held Saturday, November 25th 2:00 p.m. at Greater Friendship M.B. Church, 3325 E. Emma St, Tampa, FL 33610, Pastor Ronnie Murray; Rev. Carlos Boyer, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.  Vivian was born December 12, 1937 in Tampa, Florida. She graduated from Middleton Senior High School and married her soul mate of 59 years on November 18, 1953. Upon their union, 5 children were born. She had a passion for nursing and was employed by Clara Frye Hospital and Tampa General Hospital with an outstanding 39 years of committed service, retiring after 1983. She loved the Lord and was baptized at Greater Friendship M.B. Church by Rev. Madison Murray. Vivian ended her earthly journey on Sunday November 12, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Jerome Norton, Sr.; parents, Rene and Vivian Guzman Branch; daughter, Vivian Norton Smith, grandchildren, Anesha Nicole and Carlos Cummings, Carla and Carletta Norton, Alexis Norton, Andre Norton Bowles, and Melvin D. Norton; siblings, James (Beatrice) and Herbert (Betty) Guzman, Carolyn Guzman Sesler (Llyod) and Majorie Guzman McGee (Alfred); and sister-in-law Doris Norton Bryant. She leaves to cherish her fond memories with her 4 loving children, Melvin Norton, Jr. (Candi), Andrea Norton Cummings (Darryl), Henry Norton, Sr. (Traci), and Carl Norton, Sr. (Equila); grandchildren, Tumeka Norton, Nakayae Norton, Darryl Cummings, Jr., Evita Cummings Mitchell, Loretta Smith White (Chris), Teresa Smith Bates (Donald), Shaquitta, Cammile, Jaquez, Vivian Norton, Kalvina Cummings, Carl Jr., Keverick, Henry Jr., Curtis, and Atiya Norton, Aykaye (France), Katrina (Tony), Marlon, and Kenneth; great grandchildren, Andre, Jr., Kemo, Jeronte, Delvin, A.J., D’ Andre, Andrea, Jeremiah, Tarus Jr., Heaven, Kharisma, Rekaye, Desean, Delias, Deion, Kimora, Curtis Jr., Janayaha, Henry III, M.J., Miziah, France Jr.; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Rena Guzman, Shirley Guzman Black (Frank) and Margaret Guzman Woodie; brother, Costello Guzman; nieces, Kathy, Lena, Erica, Cheryle, Katrina, Alma Gail, Ruthie, Kim, Leverne, Carolyn, Felecia, Tasha, Lynn Tara Latrice, Anjanette, Vivian; nephews, Sylvester, Gregory, Frank Jr., Lloyd, Rene, Reginald, Derrick, Aaaron, Herbert, Kieth, Jeramino; sister-in-law, Lavern Norton Collins; friends, Minnie Williams, Pauline Hemmiway, and Pat; other families and neighbors, the  Guzman, Layfayette, Norton, Sesler, Isaac, Jenkins, Woodall, Buie, Smith, Watson families; also Jackie Mickens, Natalie Siegler, Dora Moore, Alma and Hope; special gratitude to her medical team, Dr. Collen Campbell and Dr. J. Shah, Frensiou Ybor Dialysis and New Greater Friendship M.B. Church family. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
