Susie Marilyn Twiggs Boston

February 14, 1926 ~ January 19, 2018 (age 91)

A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Susie Marilyn Twiggs Boston of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 will be held Saturday, January 27th, 11:00 a.m. at Allen Temple AME Church, 2101 Lowe Street, Rev. Dr. Glen B. Dames, pastor officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Susie Twiggs Boston was born February 14, 1926 to the late Rev. Presiding Elder Isaiah S. Twiggs and Ella Donaldson Twiggs in Madison County, Florida. Susie accepted Christ in her life at an early age and upon moving to Tampa, Florida she united with Allen Temple AME Church. She was an active member at Allen Temple AME Church until her health began to fail. After completing high school in Madison County. She moved to Tampa to be with her oldest sister Lillie Twiggs. She continued her education by enrolling in cosmetology school, later graduating as a licensed cosmetologist. Susie worked for many years in Tampa with her cousin the late Dan Twiggs. She will be remembered as a caring mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family gatherings on Sunday afternoon after cooking some of everyone’s favorite dish. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elder Isaiah and Ella Twiggs; husband, James Boston; brother, Isaiah Twiggs, Jr., six sisters, Ola Robinson, Istella Sampson, Lilla Siplin, Asilean Bell, Dr. Verree Stomes and Eliza T. McGee. Susie will be lovingly remembered by her son, Billy L. LeGree (Margaret Ann); daughter, Yvonne Boston; granddaughter, Kimberly LeGree-Hymes (Van Eric) of Wesley Chapel, FL; one great-granddaughter, Jasmine Ann Hymes; two grandsons, Steven and Isaiah Boston; nephew, Rev. Andrew Sampson (Marie) of Atlanta, GA; nieces, Patricia Ball (Charlie), Oliva Gail Flowers, Benize Worlds, Ola B. Odd and Jenethel Grant of Jacksonville, FL; a host of other cousins, Twiggs, Bell, Carrington and god-daughters, Anol Woodarol and Tisha Flower; a special thank you to the youth usher board of Allen Temple. The visitation will be held at Allen Temple AME Church on Saturday, January 27th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the visitation and service.
