A homegoing memorial celebration for of Mr. Rhoney Triplett, Sr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 will be held Saturday, December 9th, 11:30 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Bro. Christopher Thompson, officiating. Mr. Rhoney Triplett, Sr. son of the late James W. Triplett and Genevieve Donaldson Triplett. He was born on March 10, 1942, in Wakulla County, Florida. He graduated from Howard W. Blake in the class of 1960.  Rhoney received a post-secondary education in tailoring which was his passion and his first real job.  Later, he was employed by Monarch Marketing Systems in Dayton, OH, and retired from the Hillsborough County School System in March 2001, after 24 years of service. He was a member of Highland Missionary Baptist Church for many years where he served in the Male Chorus and Choir Number One.  He later attended New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and Life Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Rhoney Triplett loved his family, especially his mother Genevieve Triplett, was a devoted husband to his wife Doristine when she became ill, actively supported his children when playing sports, and helped them develop a solid work ethic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doristine; father James Triplett; and sister Betty Henderson. Mr. Rhoney Triplett, Sr., leaves to cherish his memories with his mother, Genevieve Triplett; son, Rhoney Triplett, Jr. (Belinda); and daughters, Rhonda Coleman (William), Lacitia Ponder (Michael), and Rosette Dupree (Johnny);  grandchildren, Rhoney Triplett, III (Stephanie), Rhyan Triplett, Rhaven Triplett, Moses Carter, Jr., Mo Kneesha Carter, Justin Sims, Ciera Sims and Traeonie Dupree; great grandchildren John Triplett, Michael Triplett, Daryl Bowman Jr, and Alyse Carter; aunts Vivian Triplett, Mary Jackson, Shirley Mae Taylor, Gloria Triplett, Majorie McPherson, Mary Donaldson, Lucille Griggs, and Josephine Bradley; uncle, Preston Triplett; ex-wife, Betty Lewis; nephew, Anthony Henderson (Stephanie); life-long best friends, Grover Felton, Art Dangerfield and Lewis Young; and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the memorial service.
