A homegoing celebration for Mr. Julius Burnett, Jr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Blvd., Pastor Shawn McCoy, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Julius was born on October 3, 1930 to the late Julius Burnett, Sr. and James Edna in Safety Harbor, Florida.   He served as a Marine in the United States Military. Later he joined St. Matthew Baptist Church and worked for Creative Concrete as a heavy equipment operator for over 20 years. Julius enjoyed fishing, scratching lottery tickets, gardening, spending time with his family and driving his RV. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Burnett, Sr. and James Edna; brothers, Theopolis, Ponder Lee and Abby Burnett; sisters, Margaret Everett, Mary Ellis, Elnora Walker and Edith Page. He leaves to cherish his memories with his children, Judith Burnett and Ponda Burnett (Kelly); step-children, Harriet Mckenzie, Willette Clemmons, Vincent Raffington and Ann Dxion (Delrow); grandchildren, Alicia, Olivia, Janae and Ponda, Jr. Burnett and Raphael Mckenzie; great granddaughter, Alisandra Marte; sister, Mildred Roberts and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
