A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Frances Bryant Williams of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 will be held Saturday, October 21st, 10:00 a.m. at St. John Progressive M.B. Church, 2504 E. Chipco St., Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, Sr., pastor officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Frances Bryant Williams is the daughter of the late Leo E. Bryant and Katie B. Graham. Frances and the late John H. Williams, Sr. are the parents of the late John Henry Williams, Jr., and Gloria Jean Williams-Pendleton. She was preceded in death by her son, John Williams, Sr.; sisters, Evelyn Mifflin, Rudean Lindsay, Barbara Ratcliffe; brothers, Arthur Alexander, James Alexander, Jerome Alexander; grandson, John L Williams; aunts, Frances “Day” Holmes, Celia Forbes and Minnie M. Warren; special friends/godchildren, Reverend Arthur T. Jones, Paulette Anderson and Leroy Selmon. Frances attended Hillsborough County Schools and graduated from Middleton Senior High School, class of 1947. A lifelong member of St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, she served as Church Clerk for over 35 years, was the BTU teacher and President, Ministry Leader of the Intercessory Prayer Group, Director of the Youth and F. G. Hilton Angelic Choirs, Director Choir #2, Sunday School Teacher and mother to all; a consummate giver. She retired from the doctor’s office of Young, Williams and Murphy in September 1994 after 43 years of service. She leaves to cherish her memories with her daughter, Gloria Jean Williams-Pendleton (Earl), Annie Robinson, Shirley Scott-Charles and Johnny Lee Williams; daughter-in-law, Belinda Williams; special children, Stephanie Grant and Rudolph Walker; brothers, Reverend Rudolph Alexander (Martha), Robert Alexander; sisters, Betty Dixon and Barbara Radcliff; grandchildren, Cheriese Edwards (Demond), Sherika Williams-Dunbar (Yancy), Shemia L. Hollingshed, Andrae Edwards; great-grandchildren, DeVaughn, Daria, Zachary, Andrae Jr., Jon Christian, Dreana,  DeAndrae, Nicholas, Diamond, Elijah, Anika, Deidra, Tanisha;; nieces, Lisa Mifflin, Janet Radcliff, Patrice Ficklin (John), Aja Stewart (Melvin); nephews,  Rudy, David (Althea), William (Peresa), Anthony, Jeremy, Harold, Jerome; cousins, Mary Bates, Nancy Flucker, Chris Bates, Michael Bates (Marvelyn) and David Bates (Joyce); her Georgia family; god-children, Valarie Nunn, Carlos Williams and Janet Green of Sarasota; spiritual children, Reverend Earl B. Mason, Minister Vincent Strange, Reverend David Jones, Sr., Reverend Clyde Lewis (Vivian), Janice Nunn-Nelson, Precious People, James Watson (Rose), and Claybra Selmon; and a spiritual group of warriors-The Intercessory Prayer Group. The visitation will be held at St. John Progressive M.B. Church on Friday, October 20th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
