Emanuel Williams

May 27, 1954 ~ October 21, 2017 (age 63)

A homegoing service for Mr. Emanuel Williams formerly of Tampa, Florida who passed away on October 21, 2017 in Converse, Texas, will be held on Saturday, November 4th, 10:00 a.m., at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Min. Keith Jacobs, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Emanuel was affectionately known as “William” by his friends and co-workers, and “Rooster” by his immediate family. He was born on May 27, 1954 to the late Lenzy and Mary Williams in Marianna, Florida. He relocated to Tampa, Florida as a young man in the early 1970’s where he remained until September 2017, then he moved to San Antonio, TX with his wife, Georgette. At the time of his passing Emanuel and Georgette were living with their daughter, Kariema and son-in-law, Richard Washington in San Antonio, Texas. Emanuel explored a few career paths while living in Tampa, however he found his passion in being a skycap at Tampa International Airport for 25 years, retiring in 2013 due to his illness. In 1993, Emanuel met his loving wife Georgette, they fell in love and decided to make their union official in 1996. He was a humble man, who had a love for his family and was very close to his brothers and sisters. He was a devoted husband and father to one son, six stepchildren and their children. He loved to spend time with friends and family, constantly giving and helping others. Emanuel had a spirit that would light up a room. He will always be remembered as a fun-loving and exuberant man. We all grew to love and respect him and he will be dearly missed. Emanuel Williams was preceded in death by his father, Lenzy Williams, mother Mary (Bell) Williams and older brother, Johnny Williams. He leaves behind precious memories with his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Georgette Williams; four loving sisters, Ethel Pittman (T.C.) of Tampa, FL, Bertha Hartsfield (Willie) of Two Egg, FL, Minnie Williams of Tampa, FL, and Lucille Jacobs (Keith) of Tampa, FL; three brothers, Robert Williams (Brenda) of Tampa, FL, James Williams (Corine),  of Tampa, FL and Lynwood Williams (Mellonde) of Two Egg, FL; three daughters, Jolanda Sanders of Tampa, FL, Mischa Sanders of Plainfield, NJ, and Sergeant First Class Kariema Washington of San Antonio, TX, (Sergeant First Class Richard Washington); four sons, Terrol Sanders of Bushnell, FL, Anthony Sanders and Jamal Sanders of Tampa, FL (Tabatha Vickers), and Michael Anthony Green of Orlando, FL; twenty-eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and extended family members and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 3rd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
