The Piano Brothers

A homegoing celebration for Aaron Sirmane Sims of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 will be held Saturday, September 30th, 2:00 p.m. at Allen Temple AME Church, 2101 Lowe St., Rev. Glenn B. Dames, pastor with Rev. Karen J. Sims, pastor of New St. Paul AME Church officiating. Mr. Aaron “A’Ron” Sirmaine Sims, son of the late Leroy Sims, Jr. and Antoinette Jackson Sims was born on March 2, 1989 in Tampa, Florida.  He departed this life and began his eternal glory on September 20, 2017.  Aaron loved to be known as A’Ron and was the youngest of five children. Aaron was a father, son, grandson, uncle, cousin, and nephew but most of all he is a child of God.  Although his time with us seemed far too short, he served the Lord’s purpose for his life and received his salvation and baptism at New St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Tampa, Florida.  He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Sims, Jr. and grandmothers Margaret Shuler Patterson, (great) Dorothy Woods and grandfather, Louis Jackson. A product of the Hillsborough County School System, he was a graduate of C. Leon King High School.  He furthered his education with enrollment at Hillsborough Community College and was employed by Carrabba’s Italian Grill where he served in many capacities, with his favorite being chef. Aaron loved to learn and was an avid reader always striving to gain further knowledge to better himself for his son.   When he was not spending time with his son and family, working or studying, Aaron could be found pursuing his favorite hobby; making his own music.  His love for rap and beats is well known. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved son, Aaron Sims, Jr., mother Antoinette Sims and siblings, Roshard Jackson, Laroy Sims Sr. (Farrin), Mario Johnson (Marilyn) and Ciara Exantus (Wilson).  His memory is cherished by a great grandmother Joanne Mumford, grandparents Leroy and Rev. Karen Sims, Uncles David Jackson, Tommy Sims, Royian Sloan and Keith Sims, Aunts Sylvia Jackson, Priscilla Norton, Glenda Fort and Bridget Sims.  A tremendous host of devoted cousins, nieces and nephews, family members and friends remain to celebrate his life.  His prayer for his family would be to love God and one another that we may meet again. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 29th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
