Homegoing services for Mr. Ralph Payne, Sr., who passed away Friday, February 28, 2014, will be held Saturday, March 8th, 4:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Ralph was born February 22, 1926 in Clearwater, Florida to the late Clarence and Betsy Bryant. Ralph enjoyed playing cards and dominos, cooking, watching sports and travelling. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Evangeline Payne and great grandson, Jason Brown, Jr. He leaves to cherish loving memories with his children, Ralph Payne, Jr., Clearwater, Elbert Payne, Sr. and wife, Leslie and Evangeline Bryant and husband, John, all of Tampa and Carolyn Kennedy and husband, Scott of Sarasota, FL; 17 grandchildren, Carmelia and Devette Payne, and Dahryl Murray, Detroit, MI, Elisa, Elbert,Jr., Eliesha and Travia Payne,Dreshea Penny,Tampa, FL, Cedrick, Roman, and Dustin Kennedy, all of Tampa, Ashley-Rashawn Kennedy, Virginia Beach, VA, April Kennedy, Miami, FL, Michael Payne,Deontae Brown, Lavinia Oliver and husband Rethell of Tampa; 26 great grandchildren, Cedric and Demorin Carr, La’Trece Williams, Antonio Boyens, Kahana Cook, Khyisha Murray, Tiesha Woltz, Torrerka and Torre Murray, Sr., all of Detroit, MI, Jayla and Kayla Brown, Devontae, Dreshae and Deshawn Penny, all of Tampa, Mikayla, Mariah and Mia Kennedy and Jaedon Wood, Aniyah and Kimani Evans and Jordyn Kennedy, Virginia Beach, VA; Ci’Leaf and Jaylor Kennedy, Sarasota, FL, De’Montay and De’Antay Howard, Bradenton, FL; nieces, Jackie White and Sharol Dennis, Millville, NJ; nephews, Jarod and Markese White, Millville, NJ; extended family, Calvin Ellis (Juan) and Reginald Mention, Marianna, FL, Julia Woodruff , Yvette Kennedy, Clifford and Thelma Canty and Lonzo and Pauline Williams, Tampa, FL and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home Friday, March 7th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
