Homegoing services for Deaconess Rosa Lee Black of Tampa, who passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, will be held on Saturday, February 23rd, 11:00 a.m. at Grace Mary M.B. Church, 3901 N. 37th, Street, with Elder Dr. Thomas J. Reed pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mrs. Rosa Lee Black was born in Umatilla, Florida to the late Eugene and Mary Clark. She was educated in the Public Schools of Lake County and Hillsborough County. She came to Christ as a young person and was baptized at Bethel AME Episcopal Church in Umatilla, Florida. She later met and married Deacon Frank H. Black on February 12, 1966. Rosa later united with Grace Mary M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Booker Thedford Williams and later Elder Dr. Thomas J. Reed. She served as a Deaconess, a member of Mission #1, Usher Board #1 and as a Sunday school teacher. She remained an active faithful member until her health failed. Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Frank H. Black; mother, Mary Clark; father, Eugene Clark; sisters, Ruby Dukes and Allen Baldwin and son, Eugene Mungin. Rosa Black leaves to cherish her loving memories with 3 children, Mary Hatchett, Robert Mungin and Eddie Mungin all of Tampa; 10 grandchildren, Katrina Green and husband, Ray, Evangela Anderson and husband, Phil, Selena Harris, Sabrina Vance and husband, David, Charman Benemoned, Obadiah Mungin, Natash Mungin, Eddie Mungin, Jr., Romair Mungin all of Tampa, Lachoya Mungin of NY; 12 great grandchildren, John Jenkins, Jr. and wife, Melody; Cornelius Hatchett (friend Ashley) Franklin Robinson (friend Nakeisha), Daryl and Kenney Anderson, Ashley Harris, Terriell Denmark (friend Ivan) Amoni Goodwin, Dannisha Mathis (friend Mike) Dannielle Mathis, Danbrinae Mathis and Quatisha Mungin; 5 brothers, Leroy Clark and wife, Gail of Mt. Dora, FL, Charles Clark, Lawrence Clark, Arthur Clark and wife, Carolyn of Umatilla, FL, Alfonzo Clark of Lomcop, California; 2 sisters, Sarah Yomah, Jacksonville, FL and Julia Jones and husband, Lawrence of Albany, GA; goddaughter, Ethel Ward and husband, Irvin; special friends, Mrs. George Owens, Mrs. Hiawatha Washington, Mrs. Gwendolyn Atkins, Elder and Sister James Reed, Jr., Elder Richard Wright; a host of other great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the services.
