Homegoing services for Mrs. Katherine B. Felton, affectionately known as Kat/ Sister of Tampa, who passed away, Monday, March 26, 2012, will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at the Apostolic Church of Jesus, 2708 East Osborne Ave, Tampa with Pastor Samuel Washington, officiating. Katherine was born December 7, 1944 in Cairo, Ga. Katherine attended school in Cairo, Ga. Later years Katherine moved to Tampa with her 2 daughters. She was employed at the Florida College, where she retired from in 1996. She was a dedicated member of the Apostolic Church of Jesus, where she met and married the love of her life of 18 years until going home to be home with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel Barron Sr., Missionary Dorothy Thomas, and stepfather Willie Thomas. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: a devoted and caring husband, Deacon James Felton; two daughters, Della Evans (Nathan) Columbia, South Carolina and Nancy Walden of King Fisher, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Carlos, Tika, Kenneth, Natalie, Nashua, Nathan Jr., Haven, Nicola and Jaime as well as nine great grandchildren; six sisters, Sarah Holton (Eric) Pelham Georgia, Catherine Nunley (Melford) of Kentucky, Virginia Swain (Myron), Patricia Barron, Cairo, Georgia, Dorothy Lee and Ruby Powell both of Tampa; four brothers, Samuel Barron (Pam), Tampa, Joseph Barron (Janie), James Barron (Mary), and Eddie Barron all of Cairo, Georgia; mother-in-law, Aretha J. Hicks, Tampa, FL.; four sisters-in-law, Tina F. Penny (Sylvester), Patricia Hayes, Joyce Williams (Ronald) all of Tampa, FL. and Linda Cunningham of Leesburg, FL.; eleven brothers-in-law, Bila Shabaka Shabazz, Reginald Felton, Ronald Felton (Barbara Ann), Kenneth Lofton, Bruce S. Marshall, D’Andrae Marshall, Jeffery Coonce, Eddie Williams (Regina), Mark Williams, Timothy Williams (Lisa), all of Tampa and Reginald Coonce (Bridget) Texas; godson, Pastor Alvin Daniels (Jan’et) Sebring, FL.; godsister, Missionary Laverne White (Elder Willie White) Tampa, FL.; two godbrothers, Minister Michael Hippard (Angel), and Elder Melvin (Edith) Largo, FL; best friend Sister Catherine Mosley; a loving cousin, Ilene Lane (Dennis), Valrico, family member Rosa L. Coonce, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and Apostolic Church of Jesus. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5-8pm, Friday evening. Family and Friends are asked to meet at the church at 10:45 am.
